Many people decide to join a network marketing company. In today’s economy it seems fantastic that you could work from home and earn enough income to quit your job – something many of us dream about. Even financial gurus like Rich Dad author Robert Kiyosaki recommend it.

Also network marketing companies usually have excellent products at reasonable prices. This is because they can put all their dollars into their products – they do not have an advertising budget because they have people like you working for them and promoting their company. Also your monthly payment to them will cover any administrative expenses.

It is hard work and it is not for everyone. If you want to do this, pick a company whose products you really like. You also have to check out their compensation plan. It usually works that you sign up (usually you have to either pay a small monthly fee or buy products each month for a certain amount – often less than $50) and then you have access to all the tools necessary to make you successful.

You can promote the product and get sales but even better is getting other people on board. In this case, these people are in your ‘downline’ which means that you get a small percentage of their sales. Obviously if you get enough people working in your downline, you get easy money – they do the work and you get a small part of that – and that all adds up into a nice income for you.

There are lots of information about how to be successful – even youtube videos. It does take a lot of effort on your part – cold calling, going to other network meetings to get your message out there. Often you can sign up to have a replica on the company’s website in your name so you can attract people that way.

Here are some tips to help your succeed.

As mentioned above, choose your company well. If you are passionate about the company and its products you will be able to honestly promote them. You will depend on them and the reputation of their products to get sales. Due some due diligence and find out how long the company has been in business, if they have a good support system in place both for you and for customers who buy their products. Is their compensation plan something you can work with – is it fair?

The next tip is obvious but many people fail at this. Do what they tell you to do. They have experience how to teach their network marketers and it is in everybody’s interest that it works. They have a whole system in place to help you so make sure you use it.

Also you will have an ‘upline’ – people above you on the totem pole. Also find out about the person who introduced you. How helpful is your upline? Do they contact you and help you with a marketing plan? Do you have the feeling they want to help you succeed?

If you are passionate about their products and you adhere to their plan and get help when necessary from your upline, and you are persistent and don’t give up, your efforts will be rewarded and you will be able to earn a good income.

I was told to write a positive article but I’m refusing to. I’m refusing to write a positive article because there are too many positive articles on the internet. I would rather write about how you are likely to fail and how only a small percentage of people actually make any more.

I also would like to write about how you simply don’t have the skills to use traditional network marketing methods. As I see it, you have bought a bill of goods and no one wants to buy it. I would also like to say that I have a few tips to share that will turn around your network marketing career but most of you will just read this article and not use the information in it.

In some ways, I am tired of how people use information. They read about a subject but they never put what they read into use. I am going to give you many examples about how to make money through network marketing and I know that only 1% or less of the people who read this article will take it to heart and take immediate action. It gets discouraging to offer up jewels that no one is willing to use.

One thing that is true about network marketing is that it is hard to do. Most of you do not have sales skills. You’ve never been successful at door 2 door sales or direct sales. How do they expect a bunch of novices to be successful at network marketing? The answer is they do not! They just want new agents and distributors to replace the spot of all the ones who have failed before them. How does this make you feel? Did you just hear some speech about how you can do it? Truth is you probably can’t do it.

I can teach you about how to make money in network marketing but I can’t teach you how to be a millionaire. If you want to be a millionaire go start your own business. If you want to make some extra money through network marketing, that I can teach you how to do.

One of the first things you must do is ignore all that old fashion pitch your friends and family garbage. Forget pitching anyone. Do all your marketing on the internet where you won’t annoy anyone or have to deal with a ton of rejection.

Use social media, youtube and article marketing to find customers. If you are smart you will find ways to automate all your internet marketing. You can go to freelance sites and pay someone $3 to write you articles about your network marketing products and opportunity. You can use other software to post that one article all over the internet where some other business aspirant will find it. There are tons of people who want to get into a business, you just have to create a larger enough presence for them to find you online.
